(11th – 12th November, 2019)
The Black Forest – Alpine SGA Student Chapter, in collaboration with SGA Chapter Nancy, proudly invite you to join us for our second annual workshop. The Orogenic Gold Workshop: New Deposits and Perspectives, will be hosted at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) on November 11th – 12th, 2019. The event is free of charge but the number of participants is limited to 60 people, therefore please contact us if you would like to attend.
The workshop will focus on under-explored orogenic gold deposits in Finland, Africa and Guyana. Keynote presentations will be given by invited speakers Ferenc Molnar (GTK), Prof. Anne-Sylvie André-Mayer (University of Lorraine) and Prof. Jochen Kolb (KIT). These will be accompanied by presentations from others researchers from KIT, Nancy and GTK. There will also be an opportunity to examine orogenic gold hand samples and discuss the identification of these deposits in the field.
We will make the mineralization happen by providing hot fluids and refreshments during coffee breaks throughout the day, as well as an evening apero and gold-related poster session on Monday, 11th.
Additionally, anyone is welcome to become a member of the Black Forest – Alpine SGA Student Chapter! After the workshop on the 12th all chapter members are invited to join our annual group meeting during which we will be reviewing 2019 chapter events and appointing new committee members.
We look forward to seeing you in November!
